What this site collects
This website has no accounts, no contact forms, no cookies, and no third-party analytics or tracking. Fonts and all other assets are served from this website itself, so no third party receives your visit.
Visit statistics. To understand which pages are read and for how long, each page sends a small anonymous record to this website's own server when it is opened and when you leave it: the page address and any campaign tags in the link, the referring page, the screen width, the time the page was visible, your browser's user-agent string, and your IP address with its last part removed (e.g. 203.0.113.0), from which only an approximate country or city can be derived. Each page view gets a random identifier that is not stored on your device and is not linked across visits. Nothing is shared with anyone else. These records are kept for up to 24 months and are used only in aggregate (e.g. visits per page, average reading time, visitors per country). The legal basis is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in maintaining and improving the website.
Server logs. The web server also keeps standard access logs (full IP address, requested page, timestamp) for about two weeks, for security and operational purposes only; they are then deleted.
Course enrollment
Courses are sold and delivered through Maven (Maven Learning, Inc., maven.com). When you enroll:
- Maven collects your account and enrollment information under its own privacy policy.
- Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.) processes your payment under its own privacy policy. I never see or store your card details.
- I receive from Maven the information needed to deliver the course: your name and email address, and your activity within the course (e.g., attendance, submissions, messages).
How I use your information
- To deliver the course you enrolled in: live sessions, materials, communication, certificates.
- To handle payments, receipts, refunds, and support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations — Spanish tax law requires me to keep billing records (which may include your name) for the legally mandated retention period.
I do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or send marketing emails unrelated to a course you enrolled in.
Who receives your data
- Maven — course platform (enrollment, delivery, community).
- Stripe — payment processing and receipts.
- Tax authorities or other public bodies, where the law requires it.
No other disclosure takes place.
Security
Data is handled through the platforms above, which maintain their own industry-standard security measures (encryption in transit, access controls). I access course data only through authenticated accounts on those platforms and keep no separate database of student information.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict its processing, and request portability. Write to dan.gittik@gmail.com; I will respond within one month. Note that data held by Maven or Stripe in their own right is subject to their policies, and billing records required by Spanish law cannot be deleted before the legal retention period ends. You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish supervisory authority (AEPD, aepd.es).
Changes
Any changes to this policy will be posted on this page with an updated date.
